Fourth TrimesterNew Sibling"When one becomes two. I could not have imagined what a blessing and a challenge having 2 boys could be. When my husband and I found out we were expecting our second son we were so excited! We couldn’t wait to tell our oldest son, then three, that he was going to be a big brother. The initial news didn’t go over like we thought it would. He was very unsure about the whole thing. We read him many books about what it means to be a big brother and we signed him up for the big brother/big sister class that was offered at the hospital at which we were going to deliver. When the big day arrived, I was so happy to see how immediate their bond was. It was also funny to see the excitement on my son’s face when he asked, 'You mean he’s coming home with us?' Don’t get me wrong, we still have many 'teaching moments', but I can already tell they will balance each other perfectly." —Christina, Louisville, mother of two |
